The population of Schaumburg is a mere 75,000, but there are still plenty of things to do and see while you study here. There are lots of parks ranging from tended gardens through conservation zones such as Oak Hollow Conservation Area. You could even check out Volkening Lake, or Kingsport Lake, both act as reservoirs. There are a couple of golf courses too. There are a surprising number of museums and historic sites worth a visit within a short drive of Schaumburg. Exhibitions range from anthropology through art. There are plenty of malls and stores to cater for all tastes. If this is not enough the delights of Chicago with all its amenities are a short ride away.

A Little About Schaumburg

Schaumburg has grown to become the retail commercial hub of the northwest suburbs. One of only two IKEA stores in Illinois is in Schaumburg, next to the gigantic Woodfield Mall, the second largest mall in America in terms of shopping area. Only the City of Chicago surpasses Schaumburg in retail sales in the State of Illinois.
